Best legal IPTV in Spain 2026: the ranking, the real prices and how the football is split

Ten licensed services, scored against published criteria. How LaLiga and the Champions League are actually carved up, an honest calculation of what watching everything costs with both figures on the table, and why your internet falls over on match Saturdays.

Let us start with what we have not done, which is the thing none of these pages will tell you: we have not tested these services. There is no lab, no stopwatch, no screenshots from somebody's living room. What we have done is gather dated public sources (official price lists, rights awards, rulings as reported by the legal press, independent network measurements) and put them side by side, with the source attached to every figure. Where something could not be verified, you will see it stated plainly: NOT VERIFIED. We do not fill in the gaps by eye.

Only licensed services get in here. No pirate lists, no resellers, no links to any of that.

One warning that will save you grief: prices are from July 2026, an unusually busy month (the DAZN offers smell of World Cup promotion and the Movistar ones expire on 31 July and 31 August). Always check them on the operator's own site before you sign up.

⚡ In brief: the best legal IPTV in Spain in 2026

• Start with what is free: RTVE Play (score 8.2) gives you the Copa del Rey, the Champions League final free to air and one LaLiga match per matchday. Zero euros.
• The best paid option is Movistar Plus+ (6.8), because of LaLiga lot D1.
• No subscription, none at all, gives you all 10 LaLiga matches from a single matchday: five are on Movistar and five are on DAZN.
• In Spain there is not one documented case of anybody being fined simply for watching. What does happen is that IP blocking takes down legitimate websites by the thousand: 554,507 domains affected, according to OONI's measurement.

Choose quickly: what you want to watch and what it costs

📌 Why the number one is free. RTVE Play tops the ranking because at €0 it delivers more live sport than several paid subscriptions. If what you are after is something to actually buy, the best paid option on this list is Movistar Plus+ (6.8), followed by DAZN (6.7).

📊 The comparison table, with both figures for every price

Before you read it, two warnings about the price column, which is where almost everybody misleads you without quite lying.

First: the famous "DAZN from €9.99" is not a monthly price. It is an annual payment split into instalments with a 12-month commitment. The real monthly price, the one you can cancel whenever you like, is €29.99 (Fútbol or Motor) and €44.99 (Premium). That is why the table always shows you both figures together.

Second: the Orange and Movistar prices in the "all the football" row include the broadband you are already paying for anyway. The real surcharge, for the football alone, is considerably lower. We break it down in the football section.

📌 How to read the scores. We score 0 to 10 across five criteria with published weightings: content and sports rights (30%), value for money (25%), flexibility (20%), technical quality and app (15%) and transparency (10%). Where a data point is NOT VERIFIED, that cell is scored as unevidenced (a neutral 5.0): neither for nor against. Affected cells are marked with ⚠️. You will find the full methodology here.

⚠️ July 2026 prices; check them on the operator's website. The DAZN ones also coincide with the 2026 World Cup promotion and will expire: on the 2025 list, the Fútbol annual instalment was €14.99/month and Premium was €31.99/month.

Netflix and SkyShowtime carry no overall score, and that is deliberate. This is a ranking of live television: SkyShowtime is an on-demand catalogue, with no linear broadcasting and no sport, and we have found no evidence that Netflix broadcasts rights-holding sport in Spain in 2026. Putting them on the list would be padding it. That said, Netflix Premium earns one technical mention nobody else in this guide gets: it is the only service with verified 4K. You will not read the word 4K about any of the others here, because there is no record of it.

Watch out for one very common error: Prime Video Ultra is not available in Spain. It launched in the United States only, on 10 April 2026.

1️⃣ RTVE Play: the best free option, Copa del Rey included (score 8.2)

Ideal for: anyone who wants to start with what their taxes have already paid for before signing anything.

RTVE Play is the public broadcaster's service. And it is worth saying without hedging: it is number one in this ranking not out of sentiment, but because at zero euros it delivers more live sport than several paid subscriptions put together.

According to the official fact sheet from Televisión Digital (Government of Spain), it is 100% free with no mandatory registration. The free account is optional and only adds extra features.

✅ Strengths

• Genuinely free, with no card, no expiring trial and no auto-renewal you forget to cancel.
• It owns the Copa del Rey outright. This is not a sub-licence: RTVE is the rights holder, both free to air and pay, and keeps first pick of every round, the semi-finals and the final free to air on La 1.
• Its channels are built into Samsung TV Plus and into the Universal Guide on Samsung televisions, so in a lot of living rooms it is already there with nothing to install.

❌ Weaknesses

• There is no complete LaLiga and no complete Champions League, obviously. It is an excellent complement, not a substitute.
• Nobody publishes how many simultaneous screens it allows or what resolution it broadcasts in. We score that section as unevidenced, not in its favour.
• The government source mentions a tier called "RTVE Play +" whose price and terms we could not verify. If anybody sells it to you as a compulsory paid upgrade, be sceptical.

⭐ Verdict: 8.2. The best-value move in the Spanish market is also the most ignored. Before you subscribe to anything, look at what you get for free: on a normal weekend that can be a LaLiga match, and in June it can be the Champions League final.

2️⃣ Movistar Plus+: LaLiga lot D1 and the Wednesday Champions League (score 6.8)

Ideal for: anyone who wants the big LaLiga lot and the Wednesday Champions League, and is already a Movistar fibre customer or willing to become one.

Movistar Plus+ is Telefónica's television platform. It holds LaLiga EA Sports lot D1, which is 5 matches per matchday plus 3 complete matchdays exclusively, and the Champions League up to the 2026/27 season. From 2027/28 it takes the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Youth League and UEFA Super Cup on a fully exclusive basis (around €1,464m across four seasons, roughly €366m per campaign).

Now it is time to dial the enthusiasm back sharply, because there are two different Movistar Plus+ products and it pays to know which one you are being sold.

🔍 The small print on the €9.99 plan

Movistar Plus+ is sold standalone, without being a fibre customer, in three tiers: €0/month (the "Cero por M+" channel, registration required), €4.99/month (Cine y Series, 70+ channels, no sport) and €9.99/month (Cine, Series y Deportes, 80+ channels).

That €9.99 plan is the one that appears everywhere as "Movistar with football". And that is where the problem lies:

⚠️ All we can publish about the €9.99 plan: it gives 1 LaLiga match per matchday and does not allow you to add the football packages. Kelisto (27-01-2026) credits it with a far wider sports catalogue (Champions League, Premier League, Copa del Rey, Serie A, Bundesliga, Grand Slams); ADSLZone (06-05-2026) describes it as partial coverage and "highlights". Movistar's official help page did not load when we tried to check. So we are not resolving this towards the reading that sells best: we are leaving the conflict in plain view.

For the real football packages you have to be a Movistar fibre and mobile customer and have the Movistar Plus+ base package, which since 13-01-2026 costs €14/month for bundle customers. On top of that come LaLiga at €36/month, Champions League at €24/month or Fútbol Total at €50/month.

✅ Strengths

• LaLiga lot D1 is the best single package in the Spanish market: 5 matches per matchday and 3 complete matchdays that are nowhere else.
• Zero lock-in on every plan. That is rare for a Spanish operator and deserves credit.
• It has a genuine free tier (€0, registration required) and an annual option with two months thrown in.
• The Wednesday Champions League comes through here, and from 2027/28 all of it does.

❌ Weaknesses

• The €9.99 tier promises sport and delivers, confirmed, one LaLiga match per matchday. And you cannot upgrade it: the football packages require you to be a fibre customer.
• The complete route costs what it costs: fibre + €14 + €50 for Fútbol Total, roughly €117/month, a figure that includes the broadband you are paying for anyway; the surcharge for the football alone, on an existing line, is €50/month. We come back to that in the football section, with both figures.
• Prices went up in January 2026. The current amounts (Fútbol Total €50, Champions League €24, LaLiga €36) are corroborated; the history of that rise and a second Fusión increase dated 27-07-2026 come from ADSLZone and Kelisto and we have not been able to confirm them in an official source, so they are attributed rather than presented as settled fact.
• There is not a single official figure for resolution or television compatibility. In 2026, that is hard to justify.

⭐ Verdict: 6.8. If you live for Spanish and European football, you have no alternative: lot D1 is not sold anywhere else. If what you want is a cheap OTT service that gives you sport without tying you to a broadband line, the €9.99 plan is almost certainly not what you have pictured.

3️⃣ DAZN Spain: lot D2, 2026 Formula 1 and MotoGP (score 6.7)

Ideal for: anyone who wants the other five LaLiga matches, 2026 Formula 1 and MotoGP, and does not mind wrestling with the small print.

DAZN is the direct holder of LaLiga lot D2, meaning the other 5 matches of every matchday, although it broadcasts on only 35 of the 38 matchdays (the other 3 are exclusive to Movistar). It adds LaLiga Hypermotion, the Premier League, the Bundesliga, Serie A, Liga F, the NFL, the ACB and the NBA, F1 in 2026 and MotoGP renewed to 2030.

🚫 What that "from €9.99" actually means

This is the most repeated trick in the Spanish market, and you will see it on almost every comparison site.

🚫 "DAZN from €9.99" is not a monthly price. It is an annual payment split into instalments with a 12-month commitment. The monthly price with no lock-in is €29.99 (Fútbol or Motor) and €44.99 (Premium). Comparing DAZN's "from €9.99" against another service's monthly price is, quite simply, a false comparison.

There is a second layer: the July 2026 annual prices (Fútbol €109, Premium €219.99) sit well below the 2025 list prices (€165.99 and €351.99) and coincide with the 2026 World Cup promotion. These are promotional prices with an expiry date. Do not treat them as stable.

📉 What the 140 reviews collected by ADSLZone say

And here DAZN falls apart. On ADSLZone's review page the average is 1.6 out of 5 across 140 reviews, with 70% rating it "terrible" and 3% "excellent". A sample of what people write:

"It is the most expensive platform and the one with the worst service" (14-03-2026) "They automatically switch your subscription to a more expensive one" (30-06-2026) "Customer service is non-existent" (15-09-2025) "When you watch any event on catch-up, you cannot put it full screen" (19-07-2026)

⚠️ How this should be read: it is a self-selected sample of one portal's users, not a representative study. Happy people rarely go out of their way to write a review. That said, 140 reviews with 70% saying "terrible" is a verifiable, dated, public data point.

✅ Strengths

• The five LaLiga matches that are not on Movistar, plus the whole of Hypermotion, the Premier League, the Bundesliga and Serie A.
• MotoGP locked in until 2030 and 2026 Formula 1 exclusively.
• A free tier with 1 LaLiga match a week for €0, registration only. It is one of the best free offerings in Spain.
• The monthly and paid-up-front annual plans tie you to nothing.

❌ Weaknesses

• The "from €9.99" marketing is the worst in the category: that figure is an annual payment split into instalments with a 12-month commitment, and the real monthly price with no lock-in is €29.99 (Fútbol or Motor) and €44.99 (Premium), three times as much.
• Both screens have to be on the same network connection. And in 2026 the Multihogar plan has been scrapped, so sharing across households is over. If that matters to you, first check how many simultaneous connections you actually need.
• 1.6/5 across the 140 ADSLZone reviews, a self-selected sample from one portal rather than a representative study, with repeated complaints about billing and customer service.
• It broadcasts only 35 of LaLiga's 38 matchdays. Three matchdays a year you are locked out even though you pay.
• Samsung does not appear on its official device list.

⭐ Verdict: 6.7. First-rate content, third-rate commercial presentation. If you want DAZN's five matches without a tie-in, your price is €29.99/month with no lock-in, not the €9.99 headline, which is the annual instalment tied for 12 months. Treat it as a subscription you take out and cancel by season, not as something permanent.

4️⃣ Amazon Prime Video: the Tuesday Champions League for €4.99 (score 6.6)

Ideal for: anyone who wants to try live European football for under €5 a month and get films and series along the way.

Amazon Prime Video comes as part of Amazon Prime, which in Spain costs €4.99/month or €49.90/year (€2.49/month or €24.95/year with Prime Student). The base plan carries adverts by default; removing them costs €1.99/month more.

Its role in Spanish sport is constantly misunderstood, so let us do the debunk before the praise.

🚫 Amazon Prime Video does NOT hold UEFA rights in Spain. Amazon declined to bid for the Spanish Champions League and left the door open "for the next auction" (El Confidencial Digital). The confusion comes from the fact that Prime does broadcast the Champions League in Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and France.

What it does have in Spain: the best Tuesday match in the Champions League, from the league phase through to the quarter-finals, 8 league-phase matchdays between September and January, every Tuesday from 19:00, with rights running 2024-2027. Wednesdays require Movistar Plus+. The final is free on La 1.

⚠️ Prime Video Ultra is not available in Spain. It launched in the United States only on 10-04-2026 (ad-free, 4K UHD and Dolby Atmos for an extra $4.99). As of July 2026 it does not exist here. It is a very common mistake.

✅ Strengths

• It is the cheapest paid entry point to live European football in Spain. For €4.99 you get a Champions League match a week across 8 matchdays. (Cheaper still is the final on La 1, which is free.)
• Transparent pricing, drama-free cancellation, and the annual option works out at little more than four months of subscription.
• The rest of the Prime bundle (delivery, catalogue, music) is still there even when there is no football.

❌ Weaknesses

• Eight Tuesdays a year is not a season. It is not a substitute for Movistar or DAZN, it is a complement.
• The base plan shows you adverts and removing them puts the bill up by 40%.
• Simultaneous screens, resolution and trial terms: we have found no dated Spanish source confirming them. We do not score them upwards.
• The bargain has an end date: from 2027/28 the Champions League is fully exclusive to Telefónica.

⭐ Verdict: 6.6. For what it costs, it is the most sensible purchase on this list, provided you know exactly what you are buying. Eight Champions League Tuesdays a year, not the competition.

5️⃣ Pluto TV: a hundred free channels without registering (score 6.4)

Ideal for: filling the living room with background television without paying or registering.

Pluto TV is Paramount's FAST service, meaning ad-funded thematic linear channels plus an on-demand catalogue. It arrived in Spain in October 2020 with 40 channels and has been adding ever since.

The important thing is that it is free permanently, with no subscription and no registration. There is no hidden premium tier and no card left on file.

✅ Strengths

• Zero friction. You open it and you watch. The "am I still being charged for this?" conversation never happens.
• The linear channel format works very well when you do not want to choose anything, which is half of all evenings.

❌ Weaknesses

• Adverts, which are literally the business model.
• The channel count rests on a single secondary source, so we are not putting it in the comparison table as a hard figure.
• No verified live sport. For football, this is no use to you.

⭐ Verdict: 6.4. It does exactly what it promises and promises nothing more. The low sports content score is fair, but it is not a flaw: it is simply playing a different game.

6️⃣ Orange TV: the lowest total cost for watching almost everything (score 5.7)

Ideal for: anyone who wants to watch practically all the football at the lowest total cost and does not mind switching broadband provider.

Orange TV is Orange España's television service, now part of MásOrange. And the first point is the one no comparison site puts in bold:

⚠️ Orange TV is not sold as a standalone OTT service. It is an add-on to a fibre plan. You cannot subscribe to it on its own the way you do with DAZN or Movistar Plus+. That changes the comparison entirely.

Rates collected by Roams and Kelisto (Feb 2026). The official Orange PDF of current prices exists but we could not download it, so the exact package breakdown remains unverified. July 2026 prices; check them on the operator's website.

⚠️ Be careful with this phrase, which gets misread. Selectra reports that the Fútbol package includes "LaLiga, Movistar Liga de Campeones and DAZN". Those are channels inside the package, not a DAZN subscription: do not assume F1, MotoGP or the Premier League come with it. And the exact breakdown of which competition sits in which package remains NOT VERIFIED, because the official PDF would not download.

✅ Strengths

• It is the lowest total-cost route to watching almost all the football: around €81/month, and that figure includes the 1 Gb broadband you are paying for anyway. How much of it is the football alone is ⚠️ NOT VERIFIED: no source we could consult publishes Orange's incremental surcharge. Against the €117/month of the equivalent Movistar route, which likewise has the broadband inside, the difference is real.
• One bill, one point of contact, video platforms built in.
• LaLiga and Champions League sub-licences without having to stack up two separate subscriptions.

❌ Weaknesses

• It does not exist without Orange fibre. If you are happy with your current connection, this is a change of provider, not a subscription.
• NOT VERIFIED: simultaneous screens, resolution, devices and lock-in. Spanish bundle deals usually carry a 12-month minimum term, but we have not confirmed that for Orange and we are not assuming it.
• The exact package breakdown is unverified. That is precisely the detail you need before signing.
• One LaLiga match per matchday inside the bundle is not the whole of LaLiga. That is what the paid Fútbol package is for.

⭐ Verdict: 5.7. The best total cost on the market for a fan who wants everything and does not mind moving provider. But it is the provider we have been able to verify the least about, and that costs it points on flexibility and transparency. Ask in writing about the minimum term and the number of screens before you sign anything, which is exactly one of the classic traps to watch for before subscribing.

7️⃣ Vodafone TV: a hundred channels for €5, and little else we can confirm (score 5.6)

Ideal for: anyone who already has Vodafone fibre and wants to add television cheaply.

Vodafone TV is Vodafone España's television package (Zegona group). According to Roams and Selectra (April 2026), it ranges from €5 to €22/month depending on the package, with a base tier of more than 100 channels for €5/month which, measured in channels per euro, is the best ratio in the Spanish market.

And now the awkward part: we have not been able to verify the plan-by-plan breakdown. The official TV packs page exists, but we could not confirm on it exactly what each tier contains. So what you see below is honestly incomplete.

✅ Strengths

• The €5/month base package is hard to argue with.
• Being able to cancel the TV package without touching the fibre minimum term is genuine flexibility.
• It works as an aggregator: if you already pay for three platforms separately, centralising them has its appeal.

❌ Weaknesses

• It is not a standalone OTT service. It hangs off a fibre plan, and that one does carry 12 months.
• Its 2026 sports offering is not verified in any source we have been able to consult. In an article about football, that weighs heavily.
• Vodafone is one of the four operators legally obliged to carry out the IP blocking ordered by Ruling 310/2024, alongside Telefónica, MásOrange and Digi, according to BandaAncha's reporting. Switching provider to dodge the problem achieves nothing; we explain the whole thing further down.

⭐ Verdict: 5.6. Good price per channel, poor transparency. The score does not punish Vodafone for being worse, but for publishing less. July 2026 prices; check them on the operator's website.

8️⃣ Samsung TV Plus and the other FAST services: free, if you own the television (score 5.5)

Ideal for: anyone who owns a Samsung television and is not making the most of it.

Samsung TV Plus is ad-funded free television, built into Samsung smart TVs and Galaxy phones at the factory. According to Xataka Móvil, it offers more than 170 free channels.

What makes it interesting in Spain is the integration with public broadcasting: La 1 is on 4007 and La 2 on 4035, plus RTVE Saber y Ganar (4106), La Promesa (4235) and La Moderna (4236). Rakuten TV also appears inside it, in the form of thematic channels: Estilo y Vida (4004), Películas Top (4878), Románticas (4888), Comedia (4908), Cine Español (4944) and Sci-Fi (4948).

⚠️ The catch that governs everything: Samsung TV Plus requires Samsung hardware. It is not universal, and that is why it cannot score higher on flexibility.

Orbiting around it are other FAST services operating in Spain, such as Plex and LG Channels, plus free apps available on Tizen: Tivify, Atresplayer, Mediaset Infinity and Crunchyroll. If you are choosing a device, we have a separate guide to which device and which app suits which situation.

Two striking figures circulate about the scale of the phenomenon: "more than 500 free FAST channels in Spain" and "Spain is the leading European FAST market, with 35% of the adult population watching it". Both come from Rincón de GO, a secondary source with no primary report behind it, so they are attributed rather than presented as market fact.

✅ Strengths: no cost, no small print, no registration, and RTVE built into the channel guide.

❌ Weaknesses:

• Total dependence on the Samsung ecosystem.
• Adverts.
• Live sport NOT VERIFIED on Samsung TV Plus, Rakuten TV and LG Channels.

⭐ Verdict: 5.5. If you own a Samsung, this is already on your remote and it costs you nothing. If you do not, do not buy a television for it.

🚫 The two we deliberately left out: Netflix and SkyShowtime

A ranking that tells you what is not for you is more useful than one that includes everything to bulk out the list. These two turn up constantly in articles about "IPTV and live TV" and have no business being there.

🎞️ Netflix Spain: the only verified 4K in the whole guide, and not a single match

Netflix raised its prices in 2026. Three consistent sources (El Chapuzas Informático in April 2026, plus Xataka and Movilonia) give these amounts:

The Premium plan is by some distance the best-documented specification sheet in this entire guide: 4 simultaneous screens, 4K, the option to share with 2 extra users and unlimited downloads on 6 devices, up to 100 titles per device (Movilonia).

📌 A figure worth fixing in your mind: that Netflix Premium 4K is the only 4K we have been able to verify. Neither Movistar Plus+, nor DAZN, nor Orange, nor Vodafone, nor Prime Video, nor SkyShowtime, nor RTVE Play, nor the FAST services publish a resolution specification we have been able to confirm. If you read "guaranteed 4K" about any of them, it does not come from an official source. (If you are going to make the most of 4K, first check how many megabits you actually need.)

Why it falls outside the ranking: we have found no evidence that Netflix broadcasts rights-holding sport in Spain in 2026. It has run one-off events in other markets (Christmas NFL, boxing, WWE in the United States), but nothing confirmed here. On a live television list, its sports cell is N/A, and since it cannot score on the criterion that carries 30% of the weighting, it does not enter the table. That said, on technical quality and price transparency it outclasses almost everything else on the list.

🎬 SkyShowtime: it is a video shop, not live television

SkyShowtime is the Comcast and Paramount joint venture. Prices in force since 24 February 2026, the date it applied a general increase of up to €1/month per plan, according to three consistent sources (Zonamovilidad, AVPasión and Bandaancha):

AVPasión also reports "half price for life" promotions that would leave Standard at €4.49 and Premium at €6.99.

🚫 Why it falls outside: SkyShowtime has no live channels and no sport. It is an on-demand catalogue of films and series, and we have found no evidence of linear or sports broadcasting in Spain. Putting it on a "live TV" list would be misleading you politely.

Its five technical fields (simultaneous screens, HD/4K, devices, minimum term and free trial) are all NOT VERIFIED. As a subscription video shop, and on entry price, it is among the most competitive there is. As IPTV, it does not apply.

📅 July 2026 prices. Check them on the operator's website before subscribing, because this summer has been unusually turbulent.

⚽ How the 2026 football is split and what it really costs

This is the crux of the whole thing. The reason half the country goes looking for pirate lists at nine o'clock on a Saturday night is not that Spaniards are unusually criminal: it is that Spanish football has been cut into pieces and nobody explains it with a table in front of you.

So let us explain it.

🔟 Where to watch LaLiga in 2026, match by match

The three-line summary, for anyone who only came for this:

• 5 matches per matchday, on Movistar Plus+ (lot D1), plus 3 complete matchdays exclusively.
• 5 matches per matchday, on DAZN (lot D2), but only across 35 of the 38 matchdays.
• 2 free matches per matchday: one on Teledeporte and RTVE Play, another on the DAZN free tier with registration. Orange TV broadcasts a further one under sub-licence inside its package.

❌ No subscription gives you all 10 matches of the matchday

Let us begin with the fact almost no page on Google's first screen dares to put in bold.

LaLiga EA Sports is split into two exclusive lots. Movistar Plus+ holds lot D1: five matches per matchday, plus three complete matchdays exclusively. DAZN holds lot D2: the other five, and it broadcasts on only 35 of the 38 matchdays.

Add them up: five and five. There is no service, standalone or bundled, that gives you the ten matches of a matchday. If someone is selling you that, either they have not checked or they are lying to you.

There is a second obstacle that is explained even more poorly. Movistar Plus+ is sold standalone to customers of other operators for €9.99/month, but that plan gives a single LaLiga match per matchday and does not allow you to add the football packages. To subscribe to those packages you have to be a Movistar fibre and mobile customer and hold the €14 Movistar Plus+ base package. Translated: there is no 100% OTT route to watching all of LaLiga. You go through a broadband line or you do not go at all.

📌 The full sports scope of the €9.99 plan is a data point we could not verify on Movistar's official help pages (the page did not load). We publish only what is on the record: one match per matchday, with no option to upgrade. The rest we do not take as read.

📋 Who broadcasts what, and what the cheapest legal route is

July 2026 prices. Check them on the operator's website before subscribing to anything.

🏆 The Copa del Rey belongs to RTVE, not Movistar

This is probably the most repeated error in the Spanish general press, and big outlets repeat it.

The holder of the Copa del Rey rights, both free to air and pay, is RTVE, for 2025/26 and 2026/27. What RTVE does is sub-licence to Movistar, which keeps a minimum of 55 matches exclusively. Orange TV also broadcasts.

RTVE reserves first pick of every round, the semi-finals and the final, free, on La 1 and RTVE Play. In other words: the most watched match of the competition does not cost you a euro. Nobody is going to remind you of that in an advert.

🌍 The Champions League: Tuesday on Prime, Wednesday on Movistar, the final free

Another classic piece of misinformation, and we flagged it in the Prime section already: Amazon Prime Video does not hold UEFA rights in Spain. It declined to bid for the Spanish Champions League and left the door open "for the next auction". The confusion comes from abroad, because Prime does broadcast the Champions League in Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and France.

What Prime Video does have here is specific and limited: the best Tuesday match, from the league phase to the quarter-finals, eight league-phase matchdays between September and January, one match every Tuesday from 19:00, with rights running from 2024 to 2027.

Wednesdays are not on Prime. Wednesdays belong to Movistar Plus+. And the final is free on La 1.

From 2027/28 the split ends: Telefónica becomes the fully exclusive broadcaster of the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Youth League and UEFA Super Cup, for around €1,464m through to 2030/31. If you are getting into European football now for €4.99 a month, enjoy it, because it has a known expiry date.

One point to avoid confusion: the Supercopa de España and the UEFA Super Cup are different competitions, and the press mixes them up with remarkable cheer. Both end up under Telefónica in 2027/28, but by different routes.

🏍️ Motorsport: MotoGP tied up to 2030, F1 only to 2026

MotoGP is settled. DAZN renewed in Spain to 2030 (Portugal to 2031), announced by MotoGP.com on 16 July 2026. It covers practice, qualifying, sprints and races across MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, with free-to-air sub-licences to Atresmedia and Mediaset for specific races.

Formula 1 is not. DAZN holds it exclusively for 2024, 2025 and 2026, and that contract expires at the end of 2026. On what happens in 2027 you will not read a single forecast here: no award has been published, and anyone who tells you otherwise is making it up.

Be careful with free-to-air races too: which ones get sub-licensed changes every season, so do not trust lists from previous years.

💶 The honest calculation, in three layers

And now we reach the part almost everybody publishes by halves, because halves look far better.

One side puts up "DAZN from €9.99" and carries on regardless. That is an annual payment split into instalments with a 12-month commitment. The monthly price with no lock-in is €29.99 (Fútbol and Motor) and €44.99 (Premium). And on top of that it gives you five matches out of ten.

The other side runs the headline "watching all the football costs €117 a month" without blinking. That includes the broadband you are already paying for anyway.

Both are half true, which is to say untrue. Here are the three layers together:

📌 Both halves, always together. If you only read "€117", it looks like a mugging. If you only read "€9.99", it looks like a bargain. The figure that actually affects you is the incremental surcharge: at Movistar, between €36 and €70 a month depending on what you want to watch, because you were going to pay for the internet connection anyway. For Orange we do not publish an incremental surcharge because we have not been able to verify it: the only documented figure there is the €81 total. July 2026 prices; check them on the operator's website. If you want the detail on why these sums work out the way they do, we go into it in what a subscription really costs.

One clarification that Movistar and some comparison sites skate over cheerfully:

⚠️ "Movistar includes DAZN" is not true as stated. Movistar integrates the DAZN LALIGA channel, meaning the five matches of lot D2. It is not a DAZN subscription: there is no F1, no MotoGP, no Premier League. Movistar states on its website that with Fútbol Total you get LaLiga "in full, all 38 matchdays"; Kelisto (22-06-2026) argues the opposite, that the package "does not include DAZN separately". The sources disagree and we are not going to resolve it for you by picking the more convenient version.

📅 Why this page does not expire in August

Good news for your patience: the split does not change between 2025/26 and 2026/27 (confirmed by ADSLZone on 10-07-2026). And in November 2025, Movistar Plus+ and DAZN were awarded the 2027-2032 cycle on the same 5+5 arrangement.

Which means "no subscription gives you the ten matches" is not a quirk of this season. It is the business model, and it is here for the long haul.

What does expire is the prices. Movistar's promotions have declared end dates (31/07/2026 and 31/08/2026) and DAZN's July 2026 annual prices coincide with its 2026 World Cup promotion, well below the 2025 list rate. Look at them for what they are: a window, not a stable price.

🆓 How much sport you can watch for €0

Before signing anything, add up what you already have available for nothing. It is the honest answer to "but football is extortionate".

⚠️ A discrepancy we are leaving in plain view: on exactly what the DAZN free tier includes, Xataka (15-07-2026) lists 1 LaLiga match, 1 NFL game and 1 NHL game per week; another reference adds 1 ACB game per matchday. What is solid and consistent is the weekly LaLiga match. Treat the rest as approximate and check when you register.

Add it up: on a normal weekend you can watch top-flight football without spending a euro, and in June, the Champions League final. It is not the whole of LaLiga. But before paying €50 a month it is worth knowing that the alternative is not zero football.

📡 Legal IPTV and M3U lists: what they are and which ones you can use

Two things get confused here constantly, and that confusion is exactly what the sellers exploit.

The technology is legal. An M3U file is a text file containing a list of broadcast addresses, and a player such as VLC, Kodi or TiviMate simply opens them. As ADSLZone puts it in its own guide on the subject, "IPTV technology is legal, but accessing copyright-protected content is not". The file is not the problem; what it points at is. If you want to understand the format from the inside, we take it apart in the structure of an M3U file.

Which lists are legitimate. There are open repositories that aggregate only signals the broadcasters themselves put out free to air: IPTV-org, Free TV and TDTChannels are the three that come up systematically in Spanish coverage of the subject. Xataka Móvil, which is the best-ranking reference for this search, puts IPTV-org at around 38,000 channels from public broadcasters and Free TV at some 1,500 HD channels. Those are the figures that source publishes, not a count of ours, and we have not been able to corroborate them independently.

The convenient route is the official app. For Spanish free-to-air live television, you do not need any list at all: RTVE Play, ATRESplayer, Mitele and Pluto TV do the same job, free, with nothing to configure and no legal doubts.

🚫 The red line, which is very easy to see. A list that includes LaLiga, the Champions League, Movistar Plus+ or DAZN is not a list of free-to-air channels: it is paid content redistributed without a licence. LaLiga lot D2 alone costs €29.99/month on DAZN, so no free list can legally contain that. If you see those names in an M3U, you know exactly what you are looking at.

⚖️ Is watching pirate IPTV legal in Spain?

We are going to do this the opposite way round to almost every other page, which either sells you fear or sells you smoke: describe what is documented, with dates and sources, and say plainly where nothing is documented at all.

📌 This is not legal advice. It is a descriptive compilation of dated public sources. Every situation is different; if you have a specific case, speak to a lawyer.

The first thing is a distinction that gets trampled constantly. A licensed service is one that has paid for the rights it broadcasts: Movistar Plus+ for LaLiga lot D1, DAZN for D2, RTVE for the Copa del Rey. An unlicensed service resells a signal nobody has paid for. Everything below refers to the second kind.

📖 What article 270 of the Criminal Code actually punishes

Article 270 of the Criminal Code requires two things at once: the intention of obtaining an economic benefit, direct or indirect, and to the detriment of a third party, and in addition an act of reproduction, distribution or public communication of a protected work without authorisation. The redistribution of signals is prosecuted through that route and through article 286 (access to broadcasting services using illicit devices). For anyone selling or distributing, sentences run to up to 4 years in prison.

Read those two requirements again and think about somebody sitting on a sofa. The passive viewer does not reproduce, does not distribute and does not publicly communicate anything, and nor do they obtain profit in the sense the offence requires. As wwwhatsnew.com summarises it (30-04-2026), "consuming pirated content is not a crime, and passive consumption of illegal IPTV is not usually the subject of direct criminal prosecution".

Where it changes: when you stop being passive. If you resell access, if you share credentials for money, if you set the service up for other people, then you are within the offence.

🔍 Zero documented cases against viewers

There is no identifiable case in Spain of a fine or conviction against an end user simply for watching pirate IPTV.

• "In Spain, to date, there have been no cases in which the viewer has been fined" (wwwhatsnew.com, 30-04-2026).
• "Blocking measures do not extend to end users who merely consume the content, and LaLiga cannot currently penalise those who connect to these services" (Genbeta).
• Pursuing the end consumer would be, according to the same source, "legally complex, since it contradicts existing Spanish law".

And now the qualifier honesty obliges us to add: "no documented case" does not mean "it is legal". Watching protected content without authorisation remains a potential infringement in the abstract. What does not exist is documented enforcement against viewers. Those are two different sentences, and anyone who sells you the first as the second is deceiving you.

On the administrative route under the Intellectual Property Act, which could theoretically reach the end user: it is disputed and we are not taking it as read. Practice in application focuses on distributors, we could not find a single identifiable enforcement file against a Spanish viewer, and the very source that claims "there have been cases" contradicts itself in another passage.

🚩 Three myths that have been circulating for years

1. The March 2024 headlines were false. On 07-03-2024 several outlets reported that there was now a clear path to identifying users and that "they can now fine users" for watching pirate football. The correction arrived the next day, in the same newspaper. The court order came from Barcelona Commercial Court No. 8 (note: No. 8, not the No. 6 that issued the blocking ruling), and its real subject was cardsharing: identifying legitimate subscribers who share their credentials with pirate networks. People who redistribute, not people who watch. The specialist lawyer David Maeztu said the matter was "being reported appallingly" and that the reading according to which it allows end users to be penalised is "tendentious and far removed from the content of the legal document".

2. The viral "€6,500 fine" is Italian. It circulates as though it were Spanish and it is not. The real breakdown, according to El Español (10-03-2026), is the Italian regime: €154 for a first offence, up to €5,000 for a repeat offence and €1,000 in compensation to Serie A, which in the worst case adds up to the famous €6,500. The Guardia di Finanza has penalised 2,282 users there. LaLiga is openly watching the Italian model, but watching is not applying.

3. The six-figure sum attributed to the CNMC has no source. You will see pages talking about enormous penalties against users backed by the CNMC and the Intellectual Property Act. We have found no reliable source: it appears only on SEO spam sites and on IPTV sellers' pages, and it contradicts what verifiable press outlets have published. That is why we do not even reproduce the number.

🔒 The real story is not the fined user, it is mass blocking

And this one does affect you, even if you have never watched a pirate match in your life. It is the part almost nobody covers.

According to the reconstruction produced by the specialist press, on 18 December 2024 Barcelona Commercial Court No. 6 issued Ruling No. 310/2024, at the request of LaLiga and Telefónica Audiovisual Digital (Movistar Plus+). It authorises them to send operators lists of IP addresses "before and during" matches for immediate blocking, including facilitator services such as Cloudflare, and at LaLiga's discretion. Telefónica, MásOrange, Vodafone and Digi are obliged to carry it out, and the authorisation remains in force until the end of the 2026/27 season.

⚠️ Transparency about this source: we have not consulted the full text of Ruling 310/2024 on CENDOJ. Everything described here comes from the specialist press (TorrentFreak, BandaAncha, Genbeta, Xataka) and from LaLiga's official statements. We attribute it accordingly, not as a direct reading of the judgment.

The scale, in two layers of evidence that do not mix. One is the figure from an interested party; the other is an independent measurement. They have different dates and different methods, so they stay separate and they are not averaged.

More than half a million domains. That is the real size of the matter, measured by a neutral third party, not by anybody with a rights contract on the table.

The collateral damage you have noticed yourself. The blocks are dynamic: the list is updated weekly, without case-by-case judicial review and without notifying the owners of the affected websites. And because CDNs use shared IPs, blocking one address does not take down a pirate service, it takes down the hundreds or thousands of sites living behind that same IP. Switching operator does not help either, because all four majors are obliged.

Legitimate services documented as blocked: Cloudflare, Vercel, Twitch (with the player's classic error #2000 since 02-05-2025), GitHub, GitLab, Docker and BunnyCDN.

⭐ The detail that sums it all up: Movistar customers lost access to the websites of LaLiga's own clubs, because they sat behind Cloudflare (TorrentFreak, 06-03-2025). An operator that is a co-claimant blocking its own customers from reaching the websites of its own commercial partner, under an order that the same operator carries out.

🗣️ The voices, including LaLiga's

Small businesses are the ones who take the hit. In eldiario.es's report of 07-11-2025, José Manuel Louro (Ralight Solutions) described how "this weekend we have had to restart the system 14 or 15 times. It is absolute helplessness". Daniel Infante (Pixeladas) puts it the way that sticks: "This is how we explain it to clients: look, LaLiga has kidnapped your website".

And then there is the episode that frames the entire debate. Pilar Martín, owner of LB Store GR, an online rhythmic gymnastics shop, complained on Twitter on 27-09-2025: "Another Saturday with no orders coming in because of the @LaLiga blocking, which cuts off access to independent websites that have nothing to do with piracy". LaLiga replied with a warning letter threatening "legal action (criminal and civil)" and accusing her of "deliberately breaching her obligations in relation to the commission of offences" (BandaAncha, 23-10-2025).

Let us be clear about what that means: the person who has been legally threatened in Spain over this matter is not a pirate IPTV viewer, it is the owner of a rhythmic gymnastics shop who complained that her website went down on Saturdays.

On the institutional side, four voices:

• FACUA has formally demanded that Movistar stop blocking web pages indiscriminately and has called for Movistar and DIGI to compensate those affected (FACUA's official statement).
• Cloudflare maintains that "this has caused serious internet outages across Spain during matches" and that "we have seen no concrete evidence that such blunt blocking solves the problem" (BandaAncha, 20-12-2025).
• Google, in a submission to the European Commission, refers to measures that "have caused widespread harm, adversely affecting thousands" (BandaAncha, 13-07-2026).
• Román Ramírez (RootedCON) takes it to the underlying issue: "there cannot be actors that stand above fundamental rights".

LaLiga's reply, which also has to be published (BandaAncha, 27-08-2025): "It is false that mass blocking of legitimate pages is taking place". The league body dismisses the complaints as "alleged blocks on non-existent websites, with no real traffic or with barely a few dozen users a month". Genbeta, for its part, argues that LaLiga exceeds the ruling itself, because the orders would only authorise blocking IPs with known fraudulent activity. LaLiga denies this. We are not settling it: both positions are there.

⭐ The figure that explains it best: 78,000 and none

In Operación Corsario Azul, the Guardia Civil blocked an add-on and removed all its channels. According to Genbeta (we have not been able to verify the publication date), more than 78,000 people were benefiting from those unlicensed broadcasts, with the amount defrauded calculated at €42 million.

The action was directed solely at the operators of the service. There is no record of any of those 78,000 users being pursued.

There you have the separation between operator and viewer demonstrated with a figure: the authorities had all of them identified and went after none of them. That is not a legal conclusion, it is documented enforcement practice, which is a different thing and considerably more useful.

🧾 Sellers are pursued, and seriously

Source: Xataka. A relevant detail: the press coverage of the conviction records not a single penalty against end users (we have not read the text of the judgment either, so we are talking about what the press says, not the ruling). The pattern repeats across every documented action: they go after whoever sets it up and takes the money, not whoever watches.

⚖️ Seller versus viewer, in one table

One grey area worth understanding: cardsharing, sharing the credentials of a legitimate subscription with pirate networks, has been the subject of a judicial identification order. That is not "watching", that is facilitating.

🏛️ Where the matter stands right now

In February 2025, Cloudflare and RootedCON filed motions to annul Ruling 310/2024 on grounds of disproportionality. On 26 March 2025 Barcelona Commercial Court No. 6 dismissed both motions in full, with reasoning that LaLiga quoted verbatim: "it is not established… that any harm has occurred, nor is that harm identified, nor is it quantified". LaLiga noted that the decision was not appealable and called it "important legal backing".

Both then filed a constitutional appeal before the Constitutional Court. Cloudflare's central accusation is that "LaLiga did not inform the court that the IP addresses it proposed blocking were shared among thousands of websites"; RootedCON frames it as "LaLiga has hacked the law". According to the sources consulted, the appeal was awaiting a decision on admissibility.

🔴 Unverified: whether, as of July 2026, the Constitutional Court has admitted or resolved those appeals. We have not been able to confirm it and we do not take it as read in either direction. What does remain in force is the blocking.

Meanwhile, Twitch, Vercel, Scaleway and Gcore signed agreements with LaLiga to take down unauthorised broadcasts hosted on their infrastructure within an average of 15 minutes, thereby avoiding mass blocking. Cloudflare chose the judicial route and was left on its own. Genbeta's reading is as blunt as it sounds: "not cooperating with LaLiga on its terms makes you a preferred target in the blocking campaigns".

Against all of this, article 76 of the General Telecommunications Act is invoked, which states that operators "shall not block, slow down, alter, restrict, interfere with, degrade or discriminate between specific content, applications or services". It is the net neutrality basis on which the complaints rest, and European regulators have specified that the exceptions must be interpreted strictly and proportionately.

A one-sentence summary of everything above: in Spain, the documented legal risk falls on whoever sells, resells, installs or distributes, not on whoever watches. And the harm suffered by the average citizen is not a fine, it is losing access to legitimate internet services on match weekends.

🚩 How to tell a licensed service from one that is not

There is one test that works better than all the others put together, and it is the calculator.

LaLiga lot D2 alone, meaning five matches per matchday and not one more, costs €29.99/month on DAZN with no lock-in. The other five belong to Movistar Plus+ and are not sold separately. With those two numbers in your head, any offer of "thousands of channels with all the premium sport for €5 to €20 a month" collapses on its own: nobody has bought those rights at that price, because at that price they are not for sale.

Everything else is supporting evidence, but it is worth having to hand. We also have a complete checklist to run before subscribing.

That last point deserves an explanation, because it is the one most people report and the one least well understood. We do not present it as a certainty, because nobody has published a study joining the two ends: we offer it as the most plausible explanation given how the blocking works.

On one hand, the IP blocks authorised in Ruling 310/2024 are dynamic and are activated during broadcasts. On the other, and this is a separate mechanism, the infrastructure platforms that reached agreements with LaLiga (Twitch, Vercel, Scaleway, Gcore) committed to removing unauthorised broadcasts hosted with them within an average of around 15 minutes of detection, according to BandaAncha's and Genbeta's coverage. They are two different routes pointing the same way: the pirate signal is designed to be short-lived because there is an entire system dedicated to cutting it off in real time.

If you have paid for something that dies after half an hour every Saturday, you have not bought a television service.

You have bought a race against a firewall.

⚠️ An uncomfortable warning. Seeing a well-known newspaper's name next to an IPTV offer guarantees absolutely nothing. Analysis of Spanish searches turns up sponsored or third-party placed content on genuine outlets (elindependiente.com, bolsamania.com, desdesoria.es) promoting unlicensed services. Google is not filtering them out. The masthead does not validate the offer.

🦠 On malware, with the label attached. The Digital Citizens Alliance published in 2024 that 44% of the pirate IPTV apps it analysed contained malicious code (keyloggers, cryptominers, trojans on the home network). It is a relevant figure, but the DCA is funded by rights holders, so it is not a neutral source and here it comes with that warning attached, not without it.

🧭 Buying guide: what to subscribe to based on what you want to watch

All prices are from July 2026. Check them on the operator's website before subscribing, because everything is moving this summer.

⚽ If LaLiga is your thing

First decide whose five matches matter to you, because there is no subscription that gives you the ten from each matchday.

If DAZN's half is enough for you (five per matchday, and it broadcasts on only 35 of the 38 matchdays), that is €29.99/month with no lock-in. You will see "from €9.99" advertised: that is an annual payment split into instalments with a 12-month commitment, not a monthly fee. They are two different products with the same logo.

If you want Movistar's half (five per matchday plus three complete matchdays exclusively), things get complicated: the LaLiga package is €36/month, but it sits on top of the Movistar Plus+ base package (€14) and a Movistar fibre line. The €9.99 standalone OTT plan is no use for this: it gives one match per matchday and does not allow the football packages to be added.

If you want it all, the lowest documented total-cost route is Orange, around €81/month with 1 Gb fibre included (⚠️ with the package breakdown NOT VERIFIED, which is exactly what you should be asking about before signing), against the €117/month of the complete Movistar route (about €106 in the first year with the Fútbol Total promotion at €39). Careful with those figures: they include the internet connection you are already paying for anyway. At Movistar, the real surcharge for the football alone, for someone who is already a fibre customer and pays the €14 base, is around €36/month if the LaLiga package is enough for you and around €50/month with Fútbol Total. For Orange we do not publish an incremental surcharge: it does not appear in any source we have been able to consult.

🌍 If the Champions League is your thing

It depends on the day of the week, literally.

• Tuesday: the pick of the day is on Amazon Prime Video, €4.99/month or €49.90/year, with rights running from 2024 to 2027. There is no cheaper paid entry to live European football in Spain.
• Wednesday: Prime does not reach there. You need Movistar Plus+ and its Champions package (€24/month on top of the base package).
• The final: free, to air, on RTVE's La 1.

Amazon does not hold UEFA rights in Spain beyond that Tuesday match, and from 2027/28 Telefónica becomes the fully exclusive broadcaster.

🏍️ If motorsport is your thing

MotoGP is tied to DAZN until 2030 (announced by MotoGP.com on 16-07-2026), with free-to-air sub-licences to Atresmedia and Mediaset for specific races. F1 is on DAZN exclusively only until the end of 2026, and on what happens afterwards you will not read any speculation here, because no award has been published.

DAZN Motor is €29.99/month with no lock-in; DAZN Premium, which adds football, €44.99/month. Adding F1 and MotoGP to the football, the incremental surcharge rises to around €70/month (about €137 counting the broadband).

🎬 If films and series are your thing

With films and series, sport stops being the deciding factor, and the whole ranking changes.

• Movistar Plus+ "Cine y Series", €4.99/month: more than 70 channels and no sport. The cheapest option with linear channels.
• Amazon Prime Video, €4.99/month: the base plan carries adverts by default and removing them costs €1.99 more.
• SkyShowtime, €5.99 with adverts, €8.99 without and €13.99 for Premium (prices in force since 24-02-2026): the cheapest large catalogue, but pure VOD, with no live channels and no sport.
• Netflix, from €8.99 (with adverts) to €21.99 (Premium): its Premium plan is the only verified 4K in this entire guide, with 4 simultaneous screens.

🆓 If spending nothing is your thing

It is the best value-for-money recommendation on the whole page. Genuinely. You have it broken down in the free section: RTVE Play as the base (Copa del Rey, Champions League final, Spain at the 2026 World Cup, one LaLiga match per matchday on Teledeporte), the DAZN free tier with registration, Pluto TV without even registering, Samsung TV Plus if you have Samsung hardware and TV3/3Cat for Sunday basketball if you live in Catalonia.

👥 If you share the account at home

This is the criterion on which you are most in the dark, and not by our choosing. Only three verified data points exist:

For Orange, Vodafone, SkyShowtime, Prime Video, Pluto TV and RTVE Play there is no verified figure, and we are not going to invent one. If sharing at home is your main criterion, first look at how many simultaneous connections you actually need.

🖥️ If the device is what decides

Here too it is time to be tediously honest. The device list is only reasonably documented in two cases:

• DAZN: LG, Panasonic and Hisense smart TVs, Apple TV, Fire TV, Android TV, Chromecast, PC, mobile, PS4/PS5 and Xbox One. Samsung does not appear on that list, so we do not take it as read.
• RTVE Play: mobiles, tablets, computers and smart TVs.

🔬 Methodology: how we scored and what we could not verify

The five criteria and their weightings

Content is weighted twice as heavily as the technical side because in Spain the real question is not "which app runs better" but "where is my match". And "value for money" does not mean "the cheaper the better": it measures value received per euro. That is why RTVE Play tops the ranking and Pluto TV, also free, does not. You have our general methodology here.

Here is how the scores broke down by criterion:

Netflix and SkyShowtime have no score, neither overall nor partial. We do not score them because they cannot compete on the criterion carrying 30% of the weighting, and publishing loose scores outside the weighted system would be exactly the sort of unauditable number this article criticises. Their assessment here is qualitative and sits in their own section.

The "unevidenced" rule

When a data point is NOT VERIFIED, that cell is scored as unevidenced, with a neutral 5.0. Neither for nor against. A service does not gain points for having an opaque website, but nor is it punished for something it may well deliver and we have not been able to check.

What we have NOT verified, and therefore does not score upwards

• 4K: confirmed only on Netflix Premium. On Movistar Plus+, DAZN, Orange, Vodafone, Prime Video, SkyShowtime, RTVE Play, Pluto TV and the FAST services, unverified. You will not read here that any of the others broadcast in 4K.
• Simultaneous screens: only Movistar Plus+ (2), DAZN (2, same network connection) and Netflix Premium (4) are on the record.
• The sports scope of Movistar Plus+'s €9.99 plan: the official help site (ayuda.movistarplus.es) did not load, due to an error on the page itself. We publish only what is confirmed: one LaLiga match per matchday, with no option to add the football packages. One source describes it as far more generous; we have not resolved the conflict towards the flattering version.
• The Orange and Vodafone breakdowns: the Orange price PDF and the Vodafone packs page exist, but would not download. For Vodafone we give only the range (€5 to €22) and the base package of 100+ channels for €5. For Orange we do not publish an incremental surcharge because there is no record of it.
• The history of Movistar's price rises: the current amounts are corroborated; the history and the second Fusión increase of July 2026 come from ADSLZone and Kelisto, without official confirmation.
• Orange's minimum term: unverified. Spanish bundle deals usually run to 12 months, but assuming is not verifying and we have not assumed.
• The exact composition of the DAZN free tier: the sources disagree on whether it includes the ACB alongside LaLiga, the NFL and the NHL.
• The IPTV-org and Free TV channel counts: these are the figures Xataka Móvil publishes, not a count of our own.
• The status of the constitutional appeals filed by Cloudflare and RootedCON: as of July 2026 there is no record of a decision or of admissibility.

What we simply have not done

We have not tested these services. There is no test bench, no bitrate measurements, no screenshots of an app in our living room. What we have done is gather and cross-check dated public sources: official websites, press releases, specialist Spanish technology press, independent third-party measurement and rulings as reported by the legal press. When two credible sources contradict each other, both appear, with their dates and their status, and we say that they disagree.

And there is not a single forum quote on this page. Not because there are no interesting threads, because there are, but because Reddit, ForoCoches, Trustpilot España and comunidad.movistar.es returned HTTP 403 and we could not read them. Knowing the title of a thread does not entitle anyone to describe what is said inside it. The only user satisfaction data we use is attributed by name and sample: the 140 reviews collected by ADSLZone about DAZN, which are a self-selected sample from one portal, not a representative study, and that is how they are cited every time.

Another note on the legal section: the full text of Ruling 310/2024 was not consulted on CENDOJ, and nor was the Engel Systems conviction. Everything we say about both comes from the specialist press and from LaLiga's official statements, and it is attributed as such in the relevant section.

Our own service is not in the ranking

We do not score ourselves. Scoring yourself in your own list is the most elegant way of making a ranking worthless.

🏁 Verdict: what we would subscribe to, by profile

If you do not want to pay anything: RTVE Play, and it is not a consolation prize. The Copa del Rey with a free-to-air final, the Champions League final, Spain at the 2026 World Cup and one LaLiga match per matchday on Teledeporte. Add the DAZN free tier with registration and you have football almost every week for zero euros.

If you are a LaLiga obsessive: decide first which half. DAZN Fútbol is €29.99/month with no lock-in for five matches across 35 of the 38 matchdays. Movistar's half requires going through its broadband, and the LaLiga package is €36/month on top of the €14 base package. If you genuinely want everything, the lowest documented total-cost route is Orange, around €81/month with 1 Gb fibre inside, although the breakdown of its packages remains unverified and is the first thing you should ask about. Against that, the complete Movistar route comes to around €117/month. Remember that those figures have the connection you already pay for inside them: at Movistar, the real surcharge runs from €36 to €50/month.

If you are a Tuesday European football type: Amazon Prime Video, €4.99/month. Live European football for less than a weekly coffee, and it is eight Tuesdays a year, not a season. Enjoy the price while it lasts, because in 2027/28 the Champions League goes entirely to Telefónica.

If you are a motorsport type: DAZN, with two warnings. MotoGP is tied up until 2030, so there is stability there. F1 is confirmed only to the end of 2026, and nobody talking to you about 2027 knows. DAZN Motor is €29.99/month with no lock-in; Premium, with football inside, €44.99/month. Not €9.99, which is the annual instalment with a 12-month tie-in.

If you only want films and series: change lists. Movistar Plus+ "Cine y Series" at €4.99 is the cheapest entry without sport. SkyShowtime from €5.99/month is the cheapest large catalogue, though it is pure VOD. And Netflix Premium at €21.99 is the only specification sheet in this entire guide with verified 4K.

And the usual reminder, which is the one thing that does not change: every price on this page is from July 2026 and must be confirmed on the operator's website before subscribing to anything. Everything is moving this summer.
