Tested on July 13, 2026 on Samsung Smart TV, MAC address + M3U method on siptv.app — also valid on LG models.
Smart IPTV, often abbreviated SIPTV, is a third-party player for Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) Smart TVs that does not provide any channels on its own. Its approach is confusing at first: the configuration is not done on the television but on a web portal linked to the MAC address of the device. The app only displays a home screen with this MAC; the whole list is prepared elsewhere, then synced. Once this principle is understood, installation takes less than ten minutes. Depending on your brand, see also our guides Smart TV Samsung and Smart TV LG.
🎒 What do you need to set up Smart IPTV?
- A Samsung (Tizen) or LG (webOS) Smart TV turned on and connected to the Internet
- The Smart IPTV application, available in Samsung Apps or the LG Content Store
- A second screen — phone or computer — to open the siptv.app portal
- Your M3U URL, received in your activation email (SIPTV does not use Xtream Codes)
- The MAC address displayed by the app, which you will note in step 2
- A way to pay the one-time activation fee after the 7-day trial (optional at first)
🛠️ How do you install Smart IPTV and load your list?
Setup runs in two stages: the TV reads a list already associated with its MAC, and the siptv.app portal decides which M3U URL that MAC must load. You install the app from the TV store, note the MAC it shows, then attach your M3U URL to that MAC on the portal and refresh. The steps below follow this order.
1 Install Smart IPTV from the TV store
- On the TV, open Samsung Apps (Tizen) or LG Content Store (webOS).
- Search for Smart IPTV, then check the publisher before installing — you need the official siptv.app app, not an imitation.
- Install, then wait for the icon to appear in your apps list.
If the application is missing from your model's store, don't force it with a third-party file: see the first troubleshooting point below.
2 Find the MAC address displayed by the app
- Launch Smart IPTV on the TV.
- The home screen displays a MAC address in the format
00:1A:…and a pointer to siptv.app. - Write down this MAC exactly, colons included, or take a photo of it.
This MAC is specific to the television: on another device, the app displays a different one, to be handled separately. It is also this one — and not the network MAC in the system settings — that must be entered on the portal.
⚠️ Attention: do not confuse the MAC displayed by the application with the network MAC address of the TV (Settings → Network). Only that of the SIPTV home screen is recognized by the portal.
3 Load the M3U list on siptv.app
From your phone or computer, open siptv.app and its My List / Upload page.
- Enter the MAC address found on the TV.
- In the external link field, paste
https://play.iptv4ksubscriptions.com/get.php?username=VOTRE_IDENTIFIANT&password=VOTRE_MOT_DE_PASSE&type=m3u_plus&output=ts. - Add the EPG URL in the field provided if you have one: without it, the channels are displayed but without a program guide.
- Set the retention options (original channel names, list order) according to your preferences.
- Confirm with Send.
You will therefore never enter https://play.iptv4ksubscriptions.com or a password in the application: only the M3U URL matters, and it is entered on the portal.
4 Refresh the list on the TV
- Return to the TV and exit Smart IPTV completely.
- Reopen the app, or use its refresh option (list refresh menu).
- The categories and channels loaded on the portal appear; open a channel to confirm that the stream is responding.
⚙️ Why does SIPTV go through a MAC address?
Smart IPTV goes through a MAC address because it has no Xtream Codes form: it links the identifier shown on the TV to an M3U URL you save on the siptv.app portal, so you never type a server or password on the television. Unlike an Xtream Codes player, the whole configuration lives on the web. The table below summarizes what actually changes.
| Criterion | Smart IPTV (MAC + M3U) | Xtream Codes player |
|---|---|---|
| Where you configure | On the siptv.app portal | Directly in the app, on the TV |
| What you enter | MAC address + M3U URL (+ EPG) | Server + username + password |
| Changing the list | On the portal, then refresh the TV | Field by field, in the app |
| Program guide | EPG URL to add separately | Often loaded automatically |
| Cost of the app | Trial ~7 days then one-time activation per MAC | Varies depending on the player |
💡 Tip: as the list is managed from a browser, prepare everything on your phone before sitting in front of the TV. You will avoid spelling out a long M3U URL on the remote control, a common source of errors.
🧩 How do you fix common Smart IPTV problems?
Smart IPTV missing from store
On certain recent models, the application is no longer offered by Samsung or LG. Use another player in your TV store, or switch to an Android TV box which accepts more applications. The device compatibility page helps you choose.
“MAC not found” on the portal
You probably entered the TV's network MAC, not the one displayed by the app. Copy the exact value from the SIPTV home screen, colons included, then try again on siptv.app.
List remains empty after sending
The M3U URL is often truncated, incomplete, or mixes HTTP and HTTPS. Re-paste https://play.iptv4ksubscriptions.com/get.php?username=VOTRE_IDENTIFIANT&password=VOTRE_MOT_DE_PASSE&type=m3u_plus&output=ts in full on the portal, without spaces before or after. The guide M3U playlist not loading lists the most common URL errors.
Old channels still display after an update
The TV is still reading a cached version. Quit the app completely, reopen it, and use its list refresh option. If nothing changes, clear the Smart IPTV cache from the TV settings, then restart.
Black screen after loading channel
You need to tell a stream problem apart from a simple display issue. Test another channel: if everything remains black, see IPTV black screen to isolate the cause.
The program guide (EPG) is empty or shifted
The EPG URL has not been entered on the portal, or the app is set to the wrong time zone. Add the EPG URL in the dedicated field of My List, then check the time difference in Smart IPTV settings.
An activation code is requested (trial completed)
The 7-day trial has expired. The portal then requests the one-time paid activation of the device; the price and conditions appear directly on siptv.app. This step concerns the app publisher, not your subscription, which remains valid with another player.
💡 Tips for trouble-free use
- Keep your MAC address. Write it down somewhere safe: it's the unique key that links your TV to its list on the portal. You will need it every time you change the playlist.
- Always add the EPG URL. This is what transforms a simple list of channels into a real program guide, closer to a classic set-top box.
- Set the retention options. Keeping the original channel names and order stops a re-upload of the list from reshuffling everything on the TV side.
- Stabilize the connection. A Smart TV on Wi-Fi does not handle 4K well: choose the 5 GHz band or an Ethernet cable to limit dropouts. See also our anti-buffering advice in the IPTV application comparison.
- Change the list from the portal. To replace your URL, return to My List with the same MAC, paste the new address and resend; the TV updates when the app reopens.
- Before reselling the TV, delete the list from the portal and clear the app cache so you don't leave your M3U URL attached to the MAC.
