Search for "best IPTV" and you land in two worlds that never speak to each other. On one side, pages full of tables, scores and glowing reviews that are actually selling pezzotto — pirate IPTV — including that sponsored piece you saw at the top of Google, with marks signed off by testers who tested nothing. On the other side, the serious sites, which explain what is legal but never give you a ranking, a price in a column, a pro or a con. Here you get both at once: which legal IPTV subscriptions in Italy are genuinely worth the money, lined up with weighted, openly stated scores.

A word about method first, because it matters. We did not "try" these subscriptions in a lab: we gathered public evidence — official price lists, AGCOM resolutions, court rulings, trade press — all dated and verifiable. Where sources disagree, we say so instead of picking the most convenient number.

Two uncomfortable truths up front, so you know where this is heading. First: no single service covers all the football. Second: in Italy, unlike in many other European markets, people who watch pirate IPTV really are fined — and it has already happened to thousands of them.

The best legal IPTV and live TV services in Italy in 2026 are RaiPlay (free, score 8.2), Amazon Prime Video (€4.99/month, 8.1) and NOW (Sport Pass from €19.99/month, 7.8). The top score goes to the public broadcaster, not the biggest brand: 14 live channels, zero euros, and the Milano-Cortina Olympics free to air. For football the rule does not budge: all of Serie A is on DAZN alone, the Champions League is split between Sky, Amazon (Wednesday) and TV8, and seeing everything takes two or three subscriptions. Watching pirate IPTV, meanwhile, is an administrative offence: a fine from €154 up to €5,000.

📡 What IPTV is, and what it isn't

IPTV stands for Internet Protocol Television: television delivered over the internet rather than by aerial or satellite. It is the technology behind DAZN, NOW, Prime Video, Mediaset Infinity and RaiPlay. In itself it is perfectly legal — indeed it is how most Italian television now reaches viewers.

What the press calls pezzotto is something else entirely: a service that resells streamed content it holds no rights to, usually through an M3U playlist or a generic app, at a price no rights holder could ever afford to charge. The difference is not technical, it is contractual. One practical consequence of that distinction, before we go further: this page contains licensed services only. A pirate IPTV subscription never enters the ranking, for any reason, however cheap it is. Why is set out in the legal section.

Football carries more weight than anything else, because it is the real reason Italians search for "IPTV" at all.

From here on come the cards, in score order. Each one has the same structure: who it suits, who is behind it, a spec sheet with identical rows throughout, pros and cons (including subscribers' real complaints) and a blunt verdict with the score.

1️⃣ RaiPlay: free live TV, score 8.2

Best for anyone who wants linear TV without paying a euro, and anyone who won't miss the big events, from the Olympics to the World Cup.

The highest score in the ranking belongs to neither DAZN nor Sky. RaiPlay is RAI's official platform, free and subscription-free. Registration is optional, and for live viewing you don't even need that: open the app and you're already watching. Inside there are 14 live RAI channels (Rai 1, 2, 3 and the thematic ones) plus the public broadcaster's on-demand catalogue.

On the sport front, 2026 is the year to have it installed. The Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics are free to air on RAI and RaiPlay under the EBU sub-licence: around 250 hours of live coverage with Rai 2 as the main channel, from 6 to 22 February. And the 2026 FIFA World Cup brings 35 free matches to RAI. Full live Serie A and Champions League, no: those sit behind DAZN, Sky and Amazon. For a service that costs nothing, it is still quite a haul.

• 4K not guaranteed, reserved for special events.

Verdict: it does not cover top-flight football, so it does not solve the football fan's problem. But on the criterion that matters most to your wallet — value for money — it has no rival: it gives everything and asks for nothing. Score: 8.2. Official site: raiplay.it.

2️⃣ Amazon Prime Video: the best value for money among paid services, score 8.1

Best for anyone who wants to spend little and still get a huge catalogue, 4K at no extra charge and the pick of the Wednesday Champions League — all in a single subscription with no lock-in.

Prime Video is Amazon's streaming service, included in the Prime subscription. On football it holds a heavy card: the pick of the Wednesday Champions League matches exclusively, 18 games a season, included in the Prime price at no extra cost. Note carefully: it is not Tuesday. Anyone writing "Amazon shows the Tuesday game" is copying an old guide without checking. The package is confirmed through 2026/27. For the following cycle (2027/28–2030/31), sources point to a renewal with Prime holding 19 matches a season, but as of 20 July 2026 the final shape is not confirmed and negotiations have been reported as still open: treat it as a scenario, not as settled fact. There is also Serie B, via the "LaB Channel".

✅ Pros

• The lowest price in the ranking among paid services with no lock-in, with 4K HDR included rather than sold as an add-on.
• Up to 3 devices at once: if there are three of you at home, you don't need a second subscription.
• A real 30-day trial, and the Wednesday Champions League arrives without paying for a separate sports subscription.

❌ Cons

• On football it covers a slice, not the picture: only the Wednesday Champions League game, no full Serie A.
• The interface pushes rental and purchase titles hard, and they blend into the included catalogue.
• To see the rest of the football you still need another subscription.

Verdict: if we had to activate a single paid subscription with our eyes shut, this would be it. It does not give you all the football, but at €4.99 a month it gives far more than you pay, and no other service in the ranking includes verified 4K HDR at that price. Score: 8.1. 3️⃣ NOW: Sky's sport in streaming, score 7.8

Best for anyone who wants Sky's sports rights (Champions, Europa and Conference, F1, MotoGP, tennis, the 3 co-exclusive Serie A matches) but without a box, without a dish and — if they pick the monthly passes — without a long lock-in.

NOW is Sky's official OTT service: the same Sky rights, streamed, on subscription. It is the quickest way to get your hands on the group's sport without committing for eighteen months.

On the Sport Pass the sources diverge, and it is worth saying so: alongside the €19.99/month with a 12-month lock-in, a version at around €29.99/month with no lock-in also circulates (with a €24.99 promotion for the first month). Treat it as a range between €19.99 and €29.99 depending on whether or not you accept the lock-in. New-customer promotions run until 31/07/2026.

✅ Pros

• All of Sky's sport in streaming: Champions, Europa and Conference, F1, MotoGP, ATP tennis and Wimbledon, plus the 3 co-exclusive Serie A matches.
• The monthly passes carry no lock-in: switch on for a big match, switch off the month after.
• Entertainment starts at €4.99/month, a good price for the Sky catalogue without a box.

❌ Cons

• Without the Premium option you watch on one device at a time, and with adverts.
• 4K is not confirmed by the sources: expect Full HD.
• The lock-in-free Sport Pass costs considerably more, and even then it does not give you all of Serie A (only 3 matches per round).

Verdict: it is the clever shortcut to Sky's sport. Take the Sport Pass in the month you need it, add €5 of Premium if two of you watch, and you have the Champions League, motorsport and tennis without signing up for a year and a half. Score: 7.8. Official site: nowtv.it.

4️⃣ Pluto TV: over 50 free FAST channels, score 7.0

Best for channel-hoppers, anyone who wants a second screen permanently on, and anyone who cannot face creating yet another account.

Pluto TV is Paramount's FAST service — free ad-supported linear streaming (around 8–10 minutes of adverts an hour). There is no registration and no subscription: you open it and you watch, like the old remote control but with over 50 live thematic channels plus an on-demand library. Since 5 January 2026 there have also been late-night channels devoted to horror, crime, kids and sci-fi.

One clarification that is worth the score: Pluto TV holds no premium sports rights at all. No Serie A, no Champions League, no F1, MotoGP or tennis. If you find a channel with "sport" in the name, what's inside is archive material and documentaries, not live top-flight action. That is why it loses points on content: excellent for what it is, an endless free stream, but it is not where you solve football.

✅ Pros

• Free, and without even an account.
• 50+ thematic channels always live.
• Runs on almost every device on the market.

❌ Cons

• Adverts in the stream.
• Zero premium sport.
• Typically SD/HD quality, no documented 4K.

Verdict: legal, free background television, and in that role it does its job beautifully. You do not switch it on for football or for a great on-demand library. Score: 7.0. Official site: pluto.tv.

5️⃣ Mediaset Infinity: the Coppa Italia free to air, score 6.7

Best for anyone who wants the Mediaset channels live and free, and won't miss the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa free to air.

Mediaset Infinity is Mediaset's (MFE's) official platform and it works on two levels. There is the free part, with the Mediaset channels live and an ad-supported on-demand catalogue (you just register), and there is the Infinity+ subscription at €7.99/month (€39 for six months, €69 a year), with bundles rising to €8.99/month adding MGM+ and €9.99/month with Midnight Factory.

Here a mistake that circulates everywhere in the guides needs correcting: Mediaset Infinity no longer shows the Champions League. Plenty of SEO pages, and a few cached listings, still advertise "the Champions League on Infinity+". That is out of date: since the 2024/25 cycle the rights have passed to Sky and Amazon, and the Champions League is no longer on Canale 5 or Infinity. What remains on the sports side — and it is not nothing, given it is free — is the Coppa Italia (plus the Supercoppa and Mediaset friendlies in the schedule), free to air on the Mediaset channels for the three seasons 2024/25–2026/27.

✅ Pros

• Free tier with the Mediaset channels live.
• Coppa Italia and Supercoppa free to air, final included.
• Infinity+ is cheap and carries no multi-year lock-in.

❌ Cons

• The Champions League is no longer here.
• Residual sport on the paid tier.
• 4K and screen details not confirmed by sources.

Verdict: as a free service that throws in the Coppa Italia free to air, it is worth installing for anyone. As a paid platform, with the Champions League gone, it is a decent entertainment catalogue but not an essential one. Score: 6.7. Official site: mediasetinfinity.mediaset.it.

6️⃣ Sky: the widest package, but expensive and binding, score 6.6

Best for anyone who wants the largest possible number of sports rights in one place, across box and smart TV, and is willing to accept a high price and a long lock-in to get it.

Sky (Comcast/Sky group) remains the holder of the widest sports package in Italy: Champions, Europa and Conference League, Formula 1 exclusively through to 2032, MotoGP, tennis and 3 co-exclusive Serie A matches per round. If the criterion is "how many sports can I put under one roof", nobody does it better. The problem is everything else.

On the football package alone the sources diverge: alongside the €29.99/month bundle (which includes TV, Calcio and Sport), a Sky Calcio promotion of roughly €12.90 to €15.99/month also circulates, with an 18-month lock-in, down from €33. These are different perimeters, not the same price: the first figure is a complete package, the second is football only. Do not merge them.

✅ Pros

• The widest spread of sports rights on the Italian market, all in one subscription.
• Three different platforms: dish (Sky Q), internet only (Sky Stream) or built-in smart TV (Sky Glass).
• The group also owns free-to-air TV8, which brings one Champions League and one Europa League match per round free, plus part of F1 and MotoGP.

❌ Cons

• High full price: the promotions mask a €59.90/month list price.
• The 18-month lock-in on Sky Smart Profile offers is among the longest around.
• Sky Glass pricing, screen detail and 4K availability are unclear from the sources, and the promotions expire quickly.

Verdict: if you watch a lot of different sports and want everything under the same remote, Sky has no rival for breadth. But you pay dearly and tie yourself in for a long time, and in streaming NOW gives you the same rights with far more freedom. That is why it loses here on value and flexibility. Score: 6.6. 7️⃣ DAZN: it has all of Serie A, score 6.1

Best for the fan who wants to see every match their club plays and, more broadly, all of Serie A: there are no alternatives here, and DAZN knows it.

DAZN (DAZN Group) is the official broadcaster of Serie A Enilive and holds all 10 matches per round (7 exclusive plus 3 co-exclusive) through to 2028/29. Translated: if you follow the whole league, sooner or later you come through here. It is precisely that position of strength that makes its flaws more irritating, because you put up with them without any real way out.

Price is a delicate chapter, and we are not going to simplify it. The 2026/27 price list puts DAZN Full at €379/year paid upfront; the previous season (2025/26) it was €359, and that is the figure the community still quotes ("from €359 to €379"). They are different cycles: here we use €379 and keep €359 as last season's value. On the monthly side the announced increase bites: DAZN Full goes from €49.99 to €51.99/month from 16/08/2026, and the same applies to Family (from €69.99 to €71.99). My Club Pass, Goal and Sports stay unchanged.

Watch out for the trickiest restriction, the one on networks: the 2 simultaneous devices only work on the same home network. If your family watches from two different homes, the only plan that allows it is Family. If you are unsure how much bandwidth you need to hold two streams at once, the numbers are here.

✅ Pros

• It has all of Serie A: 10 matches per round, the only holder of the full set through 2028/29.
• Modular plans, from My Club Pass for a single club to Full for the whole league.
• Broad compatibility: smart TV, Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS, Android, browser and consoles.

❌ Cons

• Expensive, and getting more so: Full upfront has risen from €359 to €379, with the monthly price going up from 16/08/2026.
• Documented live outages during Serie A, with AGCOM formally intervening.
• The same-home-network restriction limits anyone who wants to watch away from home; 4K and a free trial are not confirmed by the sources.

⚠️ The real pain, told in full. DAZN is a legal, licensed service, and subscribers' complaints are nonetheless documented: buffering during Serie A matches (from Inter–Bologna to Lazio–Bologna, and an opening matchday described as a "global problem"), to the point that AGCOM formally intervened and demanded compensation for subscribers, with DAZN issuing emergency links. As Fanpage reported, presenter Nicola Savino also complained publicly on X. We report it because pretending it doesn't exist helps nobody.

Verdict: it is only seventh on score, and yet if you want all of Serie A it remains the only route, and for your own club the My Club Pass at €29.99/month is the minimum outlay. We recommend it knowing that it is expensive and that every so often it will have you swearing halfway through the first half. Score: 6.1. Official site: dazn.com.

8️⃣ TIMVISION: the aggregator that resells DAZN, score 5.9

Best for TIM customers who want a single bill with DAZN and the major platforms inside it.

Closing the ranking is the only service that owns nothing of its own. TIMVISION is TIM's OTT platform and holds no sports rights of its own: it resells DAZN and acts as an aggregator for Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ and HBO Max. That is the whole point: one subscription and one bill instead of four or five separate charges. The convenience is paid for in ranking position, because you are going through a middleman for content you could also buy direct.

✅ Pros

• A single bill for DAZN, Netflix, Disney+, Prime and HBO Max.
• Free activation online.
• Convenient for existing TIM customers.

❌ Cons

• It owns no rights: you pay a middleman for things you can also get direct.
• 12-month lock-in on plans with DAZN Plus.
• Repricing arriving on 1 August 2026.

Verdict: it makes sense as a convenience shortcut for anyone who wants everything in one place and is already inside the TIM ecosystem. If football is your main interest, you can activate DAZN directly too, often with fewer strings attached. Score: 5.9. Official site: tim.it/offerte-tv/timvision-dazn.

⚽ The 2026 football rights maze

In Italy, in 2026, there is no single legal subscription that lets you watch all the football. Not one. Serie A is split between two operators, the Champions League between three, and the rest is scattered between those who show it free and those who make you pay. It is precisely this chaos, not just the price, that is the number one reason Italians end up with pirate IPTV: paying for three different apps to follow one season makes your head spin.

Below you will find the complete map of who shows what, with the cheapest legal route for each competition, and at the end the real bill in euros.

Who shows what: the complete 2026 table

Serie A: DAZN (all 10) + Sky (3 co-exclusive)

The most misunderstood point of all. For the 2024/25–2028/29 cycle, Serie A Enilive belongs to DAZN, which has all 10 matches of every round (7 exclusive and 3 co-exclusive). Sky shows those 3 co-exclusive games, and only those. So anyone who wants to watch every single match their club plays needs DAZN, always. Sky on its own covers 3 matches out of 10.

The DAZN options: My Club Pass at €29.99/month for every match of a single club; DAZN Full at €379 a year paid upfront (roughly €31.60/month) or €36.99/month on the annual instalment plan for all of Serie A. Watch the calendar: the flexible monthly version of Full goes from €49.99 to €51.99/month on 16 August 2026, along with Family.

Champions League: Sky + Amazon (on Wednesdays) + TV8

Two errors circulate, copied across dozens of pages, and both need dismantling.

The first: Amazon Prime Video shows the pick of the WEDNESDAY matches, not the Tuesday one. That is 18 games a season, exclusively, included in the normal Prime subscription (€4.99/month or €49.90/year). The majority of matches stay on Sky and NOW. And TV8 shows 1 match per round free to air — but never an Italian club.

The second, more serious: Mediaset Infinity no longer has the Champions League. Since the 2024/25 cycle it has gone. If you still read "Champions League on Infinity+" on some guide, that is out of date: the rights passed to Sky and Amazon. For European football, Mediaset today is not even an option.

The Europa League and Conference League follow the same logic: exclusive to Sky/NOW, with one match per round on TV8 (never the Italian clubs, bar exceptions such as Fiorentina in the Conference League in 2025/26).

Coppa Italia and Supercoppa: free to air on Mediaset

The Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana belong to Mediaset and are shown free to air. Canale 5, Italia 1, Canale 20 and Mediaset Infinity, for the three seasons 2024/25–2026/27. Zero euros, Coppa Italia final included. If that is mostly what your football consists of, you need not pay a thing.

F1, MotoGP, tennis, the Milano-Cortina Olympics

• Formula 1: exclusive to Sky through 2032. Free to air on TV8: the Italian GP at Monza and the Sprints live, the rest on free delayed coverage.
• MotoGP: exclusive to Sky through 2027. On TV8, Saturday qualifying and Sprint live, some races live, the rest on delay.
• Tennis: ATP and Wimbledon on Sky/NOW; WTA free on SuperTennis (co-exclusive with Sky); the Australian Open and Roland Garros on Eurosport/Warner Bros Discovery.
• Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympics (6–22 February): free on RAI and RaiPlay, around 250 hours free to air with Rai 2 as the main channel, under the EBU sub-licence. Full paid coverage belongs to WBD/Eurosport.

The cheapest legal combination: what you watch, what you buy, how much

And here it is, the sum no other Italian page does for you. One arithmetical note first, because without it the table lies: DAZN Full exists in two forms, upfront (€379 paid at once, equal to €31.60/month) and in instalments (€36.99/month for 12 months, i.e. €443.88 a year). The two bases are not interchangeable, so we keep them separate instead of merging them into a single number. Indicative July 2026 prices, subject to promotions.

The reading is this: to see all the football you need two or three subscriptions, DAZN plus NOW (or Sky) plus, ideally, Prime. That lands between 56 and 61 euros a month depending on the DAZN plan you choose, that is between roughly 669 and 734 euros a year. It is a lot, and it is fragmented. It is nonetheless worth setting against the other bill: 154 euros for a first violation and up to 5,000 euros for a repeat offence, plus the 500 euros in damages DAZN is demanding from users already fined — and nothing at all in return, which we come to further down.

If your budget is zero, on the other hand, that first row is worth more than it looks: the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa, the WTA, a home Olympics and one Champions League match per round, all legal and at no cost.

🆓 The free legal options (the ones that really count)

Before you reach for your card, it is worth knowing how much you can legally watch without spending a euro.

• RaiPlay is the foundation: 14 live RAI channels, the public broadcaster's on-demand catalogue and, in 2026, the two events of the year free to air — the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics (around 250 hours, from 6 to 22 February) and 35 matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
• Pluto TV adds over 50 thematic live FAST channels, with no registration and no account, with adverts as the only "price".
• Mediaset, in its free tier, brings the group's channels live and, above all, the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa free to air for the three seasons 2024/25–2026/27.
• TV8 (Sky group, free to air) covers one Champions League and one Europa League match per round (never the Italian clubs), the Italian GP in F1 and the Sprints live, plus MotoGP Saturday qualifying and Sprint.
• SuperTennis shows the WTA tour free, co-exclusively with Sky.

Put together, the zero-cost legal schedule covers linear TV, the big 2026 events, the domestic cups, women's tennis and a slice of motorsport and the Champions League. It does not cover Serie A or most of the Champions League, and on that there is no shortcut.

⚖️ Is watching pirate IPTV illegal in Italy? Yes — and they really do fine you

Here the answer is unambiguous, and it changes everything compared with what you read on the sites selling "subscriptions" at €69.99 a year. In Italy it is not only the pezzotto seller who is at risk: so is the viewer. It has already happened to thousands of people, with documented numbers, provinces and amounts.

It has to be stated precisely, though, because on this subject people exaggerate in both directions. The sellers play it down ("they'll never find you"); certain outlets sensationalise it ("fines up to 25,000 euros, prison"). The truth sits in between and is more useful than either.

What the law punishes: the viewer administratively, the seller criminally

The distinction is the key to everything. Anyone who sells, runs a panel or resells pirate subscriptions is criminally liable. Anyone who watches for personal use commits an administrative offence: a fine. The Court of Lecce made this clear too, ruling out a criminal offence for the individual end user.

What you actually risk: €154 for a first offence, up to €5,000 for a repeat

The legal basis is art. 174-ter of the Copyright Act (L. 633/1941), as amended by Law 93/2023, the so-called anti-pezzotto law, in force since 8 August 2023. For a first violation the administrative penalty is €154 (the press often rounds it to "€150", but the precise statutory amount is 154). In the event of a repeat or serious violation it rises up to €5,000: it was L. 93/2023 itself that replaced the old ceiling of €1,032 with today's €5,000. On top of the fine comes confiscation of the equipment used for viewing.

For personal use, then, the rule — on the prevailing reading and in practice — is an administrative penalty, not prison. Isolated historical exceptions reported by the specialist press do exist, but they remain exactly that, exceptions, and they do not define the general picture.

🪤 Beware the inflated number. Some outlets run headlines saying "fines up to 25,000 euros for users". That is wrong. Those €25,822 come from art. 171-octies and concern those who manufacture or market decoding equipment, not those who watch. For the viewer the maximum remains €5,000. Anyone quoting €25,000 for the viewer is confusing two different articles of the law.

The enforcement timeline

Piracy Shield and how they identify you

Piracy Shield is AGCOM's anti-piracy platform, operational since 1 February 2024: rights holders report illegal streams and telecoms operators must block domains and IP addresses within 30 minutes of the report. Created for live sports events under resolution 189/23/CONS, it was extended to all live audiovisual content by resolution 209/25/CONS of 30 July 2025. Between May 2024 and April 2025, 28,041 domains and 6,104 IP addresses were blocked. Because the obligation kicks in while the event is under way, pirate match streams are often taken down mid-game.

On overall effectiveness, however, the picture is contested and we are not going to flatten it: a University of Twente study found that the IP blocks hit more than 7,000 domains, of which at least 500 should not have been blocked (the best-known case involves Google Drive), and an AGCOM commissioner herself has disputed the official figures.

Identifying the individual user, by contrast, does not run through the blocking but through two trails: the IP address supplied by operators and linked to the line's account holder, and the payment trail (bank transfers, PayPal, e-wallets, with recurring references such as "IBO PLAYER PRO"), cross-checked against user databases seized during operations. The issuing of fines is described as a largely automated process, based on the logs.

Documented enforcement, wave by wave

The "digital Ariadne's thread" — in the words of Lega Serie A chief executive Luigi De Siervo, "ogni fruizione illegale di contenuti video lascia un filo di Arianna digitale indelebile", "every illegal consumption of video content leaves an indelible digital Ariadne's thread" — is rather more concrete than the pezzotto ever let on.

🚩 How to spot a pirate service (checklist)

A ten-second test, to run before you enter your card details. The legal services in this guide all have one thing in common: a company with a VAT number, a public price list and the rights to the content they broadcast. The pezzotto has none of that, and the signs are almost always the same. If even one of these flags goes up, stop. We have gathered more in our checklist on how to tell whether a service is trustworthy.

🚩 The red flags: recognise even one and it's pezzotto

• "Everything included" for a few tens of euros a year. The pirate resellers dominating the sponsored results present price lists of €69.99, €55 and €49 a year for "all the football and all the pay channels". DAZN alone charges €379 a year for Serie A; Sky's sports package runs to tens of euros a month. If the price is too good, nobody has paid for the rights.
• Payment only via PayPal "friends and family", top-ups or bank transfers with odd references. This is precisely where investigations start: in the case originating in Crotone, the Guardia di Finanza identified 2,769 customers by following the transfers, many carrying the reference "IBO PLAYER PRO". A serious service has a card checkout and issues you an invoice.
• No VAT number, no company name, no invoice, and support handed over to a WhatsApp or Telegram account with a username and a mobile number instead of a registered address and written terms of service.
• "Free 24-hour trial" or "instant activation by link". The only verified free trial among the legal services in this ranking is Prime Video's, at 30 days. The "M3U code", the "playlist", "activation in 5 minutes on WhatsApp" are the language of the pezzotto.
• Thousands of channels and all the football "in one app". In Italy football is split between several operators, as you saw in the rights maze. No legal service has all of it. Anyone promising "all in one" is telling you, without telling you, that it is illegal.
• The stream drops mid-match. It is not your Wi-Fi. Operators are obliged to block pirate domains and IPs within 30 minutes of a report, and the reports arrive while the event is live: that is why what you paid for vanishes at the worst possible moment.

The point is that you do not recognise a pirate service by its design, which is often polished and imitates the real apps. You recognise it by its model: if there is nobody you can ask for an invoice, there are no rights either. And in Italy it is not only the seller who pays for it. If you are weighing up a purchase, it is worth also reading the most common traps before subscribing.

🧭 Buying guide: which service is right for you

The ranking gives an order, but the best service depends on what you actually watch. Here is the shortcut by profile, with a pointer to the section where each figure is explained in full.

You want all of Serie A, every match

There is only one route: DAZN, which has all 10 matches of every round through 2028/29. The plan is DAZN Full, €379 a year paid upfront (roughly €31.60/month) or €36.99/month in instalments. From 16 August 2026 the flexible monthly price rises from €49.99 to €51.99. The plan detail is in the DAZN card.

You follow one club only

You don't need the full package. DAZN My Club Pass at €29.99/month covers every match your Serie A club plays, plus pre- and post-match, and it is untouched by the August increases.

You want the Champions League

Here you have to combine. Most matches are on Sky/NOW; the pick of the Wednesday matches (18 a season, exclusively) is on Amazon Prime Video, included in the Prime subscription at €4.99/month. One match per round is free on TV8, but never an Italian club. The cheapest route to missing almost nothing is Prime alongside a NOW Sport Pass when you need the rest.

You want Sky's sport without the lock-in

The Champions, Europa and Conference Leagues, the 3 co-exclusive Serie A matches, F1, MotoGP, ATP tennis and Wimbledon all sit inside Sky's perimeter. If you don't want the box and the 18-month lock-in on the promotions, the answer is NOW: the Sport Pass from €19.99/month on an annual commitment, or the lock-in-free version at a higher price (quoted at up to around €29.99/month).

You want films, series and a catalogue

Amazon Prime Video: €4.99/month or €49.90/year, 4K HDR included on all plans, up to 3 simultaneous devices, no lock-in and a 30-day trial. If you are still deciding between live subscriptions and on-demand platforms, the comparison is here.

You're a family watching on several TVs

Mind the network limits. On DAZN the 2 simultaneous devices only work on the same home network: for two different internet networks you need DAZN Family (€619/year upfront; €69.99/month rising to €71.99 from 16 August 2026). On NOW the Premium option (+€5/month) unlocks 2 devices at once and removes the adverts. Prime offers up to 3 devices at no surcharge.

You have zero budget

RaiPlay (14 live RAI channels, the Milano-Cortina Olympics free to air, 35 World Cup matches), Pluto TV (50+ FAST channels with no registration), Mediaset (Coppa Italia and Supercoppa free) and TV8 (one Champions/Europa match per round, part of F1 and MotoGP). The detail is in the section on free options.

You have little bandwidth or a flaky connection

Streaming services hold up on any decent connection, but at peak time they demand stability, and high-quality streams demand more of it. If your line is weak, RaiPlay, Pluto TV and free-to-air Mediaset will cause fewer headaches; if the problem is the Wi-Fi, a cable is often all it takes. And if a paid service buffers, you are entitled to complain: on DAZN's live outages even AGCOM had to step in.

You don't know which device to watch on

🔬 How we scored (and what we did not verify)

Cards on the table, because that is exactly what the two kinds of page dominating these searches never do. The pezzotto sellers dish out "scores of 9.6/10" signed by testers who do not exist. The legitimate publishers list the right services but with no table, no scores, no pros and cons. Here we have tried to take the first group's format and the second group's honesty. The full method, applied to all our rankings, is on the methodology page.

First thing, and the most important: we did not "test" anything. We did not time DAZN's buffering during an Inter–Napoli, or measure NOW's bitrate. Writing that we had would be dishonest. We gathered public evidence: official price lists, AGCOM resolutions and communications, documents and specialist press (Calcio e Finanza, SOStariffe, Selectra, Facile.it), enforcement records, all dated and sourced. The score comes from those documents, not from a road test.

The five criteria, with the weightings stated. Each service takes a score from 0 to 10 across five weighted headings. Football weighs more than anything, because in Italy it is the real reason people pay.

The final score is the sum of the five marks multiplied by their weightings. A worked example you can check: RaiPlay takes 6.5 on content, 10 on value, 9.5 on flexibility, 6.0 on technical quality and 9.5 on transparency, that is 6.5×0.30 + 10×0.25 + 9.5×0.20 + 6.0×0.15 + 9.5×0.10 = 8.20. You can redo the sum yourself for every row: that is rather the point.

Why the ranking looks like this. With these weightings first place goes to a free service, and that is a logical consequence: if you weight value for money heavily, whatever costs nothing and offers plenty wins. Read it for what it is. A low score does not mean "avoid": DAZN is seventh, but if you want all of Serie A it still remains the only legal route. That is why, alongside the number, each service carries a "Best for": the score sets the order, the profile makes the decision.

What we did not verify, and we say so. Several details were not confirmed by the sources available in July 2026, and we have flagged them as such rather than inventing them:

⚠️ The points that remain open (we did not "round them up" to the prettiest number)

• 4K and free trials on some services (DAZN, NOW, Sky, Mediaset Infinity) are not confirmed by the 2026 sources.
• The price of the DAZN Sports plan and of Sky Glass did not emerge from the sources: we have not estimated them.
• The shape of the Champions League rights from 2027/28 is reported as favouring Sky and Amazon with Prime on 19 matches, but negotiations were still reported as open: we treat it as a scenario, not as fact.
• Promotional prices change and many expire at the end of July 2026; DAZN, TIMVISION and Sky/NOW have repricings from August 2026. Every figure should be rechecked on the official site on the day you buy.
• Where sources diverge, we did not pick the most convenient number. DAZN Full is quoted at €359 (2025/26 season) and at €379 (2026/27) upfront; NOW's Sport Pass ranges between €19.99 with a lock-in and around €29.99 without. We report both values and what each refers to.

One final note on method: this page ranks licensed services only. You will not find, and never will find, a pirate IPTV service in our ranking, however tempting its prices look. The reason is in the legal section: in Italy, you are the one who pays for that saving.

🏁 The verdict: what to activate according to your profile

There is no single winner, and anyone promising you one is selling you something.

• Zero budget: RaiPlay and Pluto TV, with Mediaset for the Coppa Italia. It is the highest score in the ranking, and not by accident.
• Spend little, watch a lot: Amazon Prime Video, €4.99/month, with 4K, the Wednesday Champions League and a huge catalogue.
• One-club fan: DAZN My Club Pass at €29.99/month. If you follow all of Serie A, DAZN Full: expensive, occasionally shaky, but unavoidable.
• Sky's sport without tying yourself down: NOW Sport Pass, month by month.
• All the football: DAZN + NOW (+ Prime), between €669 and €734 a year. It is the only legal way.

One thing never changes, whatever your profile: the pirate subscription at a few tens of euros looks like the smart shortcut, but in Italy you pay for it twice — once to the seller, and once to the state.
